traffic calming lending bank

The Traffic Calming Lending Bank enables governments to share equipment and best practices as they develop design-based speed reduction techniques on local roads. Equipment such as crosswalk stencils, temporary signage, and temporary speed humps are shared through this program, as well as ideas about how to best approach pedestrian safety issues.

All participating governments maintain possession of their equipment and an online database is maintained that shows all available equipment. There is no fee to participate, however, the borrowing government assumes all responsibility for the equipment while it is in their possession. We also request that each government produce a written report at the end of their pilot project to increase information sharing among our members.
