DESCRIPTION:Excavation and trenching are extremely hazardous operations that expose workers to the possibility of serious injury or death. The greatest hazard associated with trenching is a cave-in of the surrounding soil when workers are in the trench\, the result often being fatal.  This program instructs on trenching operations\, including Soil Basics\, Trench Protection (Sloping & Benching\, Shoring & Shielding\, Avoiding Hazards)\, recognizing the signs of trench danger and handling trench emergencies.  \n\n\n\nOur presenter is Mike Hayslip\, Esq. PE\, CSP. Mike is a frequent and highly rated presenter in the areas of health and safety training.  He is president and owner of NESTI\, a safety and health-training firm.  Mike is an attorney and a professional engineer with more than 20+ years of hands-on safety experience.
